Collections Legal Assistant: Team Lead

Our client is currently seeking a Collections Legal Assistant- Team Lead.  This is a full-time, permanent position located in Albany.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and set up claims (including determining claim amount, creditors, term of delinquency, subject of claim, etc.)
  • Primary responsibilities include overseeing and maintaining all collections files
  • Review and analyze notices, invoices, etc.
  • Managing collections department

Qualifications:

  • Degree and/or certification in legal research/writing, paralegal, or related area
  • Strong writing ability is important as there is a great deal of drafting and correspondence work.
  • At least 3 years of related experience (collections background/experience a must)
  • 1-2 years of management/supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional written communication skills

Legal Secretary (Bankruptcy)

Our client is currently seeking a Legal Secretary who has a strong knowledge of the bankruptcy process. This is a full-time, permanent position located in the Albany area.

Responsibilities include:

  • drafting documentation and aiding in preparation for hearings
  • preparing legal documents, producing text, proofreading, filing pleadings and documents electronically
  • managing files, coordinating with support services, debtors and clients, law firms, and courts, and managing court docket calendar
  • maintaining schedules and deadlines
  • generating status reports, processing papers and pleadings

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Legal field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Prior civil litigation experience required
  • Commercial and residential foreclosure experience preferred
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule and work overtime as needed

Legal Bookkeeper

Our client is currently seeking a Legal Bookkeeper.  This full-time, permanent position is located in Clifton Park.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus at least 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Prior law firm experience
  • Proficient in Quickbooks (and ability to run financial in Quickbooks)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Temporary Legal Assistant

Our client is seeking a Legal Assistant to fill a temporary, week long position in Latham.  The position runs from  March 31st to April 4th.

The Legal Assistant will work alongside a general practice attorney; s/he must have skills in drafting documents and correspondence, and must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.  A degree in the Legal field is preferred; some experience is required.

Pay for this temporary position ranges from $15 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
