Description:
Our client is currently seeking an Insurance Collection Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient and insurance accounts are followed up on to make sure that the appropriate reimbursement for services is rendered.
• Respond professionally and in a timely manner to phone calls and written correspondence.
• Ensure patient/insurance collections productivity and performance goals are met.
• Ensure paper insurance claims are mailed on a daily basis.
• Retrieval of missing insurance remittance advice as required.
• Investigation of returned mail.
• Process patient refunds in accordance with practice policies.
• Maintenance of strict confidentiality.
• Ensure the billing system is updated with patient, insurance, and external collection payments.
• The release of payments as required.
• Review and resolve lockbox items.
• Approve and submit external collection agency files
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and guidelines.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with medical billing, insurance follow-up, reimbursement workflows, and patient collections is required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
