Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Follow up on patient and insurance accounts to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
- Conduct insurance follow-up and claim resolution.
- Meet established productivity and collection performance goals.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient, payer, and internal inquiries.
- Submit paper claims and retrieve missing remittance advice as needed.
- Post and reconcile patient, insurance, and external collection payments.
- Process patient refunds and release payments in accordance with practice policies.
- Review and resolve lockbox items, returned mail, and account discrepancies.
- Submit and verify external collection agency files.
- Maintain accurate account documentation and billing system records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with medical billing, insurance follow-up, reimbursement workflows, and patient collections is required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Hours & Benefits:
- Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm, 100% in person
