Description: Our client is currently seeking a Medical Director to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position.

Job Responsibilities:

· Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team focused on client-centered, trauma-informed care

· Supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and medical staff; offer performance feedback and mentoring

· Develop and implement strategies to ensure program growth, sustainability, and high-quality service delivery

· Create, revise, and oversee medical policies, procedures, and training programs

· Conduct clinical supervision, training, and in-service education to support staff development

· Guide clinical staff in assessment, treatment planning, admissions, referrals, and discharge processes

· Collaborate with program leadership to oversee non-medical staff involved in substance use disorder services

· Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal health regulations

· Provide direct care coverage on-site or via telehealth as needed, including during emergencies

· Participate in crisis response and overdose prevention efforts; support training in emergency response protocols

· Lead ongoing clinical chart reviews to ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility

· Support corporate compliance initiatives and monitor adherence to legal and ethical standards

· Establish and maintain referral partnerships with external agencies and institutions

· Represent the agency in professional interactions and maintain high standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism

Minimum Qualifications:

· Licensed to practice medicine in New York State

· Active credentials with NYS OP, DEA, NPI, and related entities

· Board Certified in Internal or Family Medicine with additional certification in Addiction Medicine or Psychiatry

· DATA 2000 (buprenorphine) waiver required

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in behavioral health (preferred)

· Knowledge of NYS clinical regulations and human service systems

· Strong grasp of ethics, confidentiality, and child welfare standards

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and EHR systems

· Able to pass Medicaid exclusion and background checks
