It’s okay to post fun photos, but make sure it’s nothing you wouldn’t want a hiring manager to see. We all live in a very digital age, which means information is easily accessed by almost anyone. With that in mind, keeping anything embarrassing off social media will make a big difference. Before posting anything, you should always be in mindset of mentally content checking to make sure it is appropriate.

Another thing to keep in mind is mentions and tags. It can be challenging enough to keep track of what you post, but you should also keep track of what your friends post and tag you in. Having a naive friend who decides to post about a party that you smartly chose to keep off the web can undo all your work. Check what your friends post about you. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask them to take things down if they cross the line.
