Description:
Our client is currently seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential properties following specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to plan and execute installation procedures accurately.
- Measure, cut, and assemble ductwork and piping using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Install electrical wiring and control systems for HVAC units, ensuring proper connections and system functionality.
- Test HVAC systems to verify efficient operation and compliance with performance standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Work collaboratively with team members and contractors to coordinate project schedules and ensure timely completion.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing homeowner questions and concerns, ensuring satisfaction with installed systems.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and service reports.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience installing HVAC systems in residential environments
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or HVAC apprenticeship preferred
- EPA Universal Certification for refrigerant handling is required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics accurately
- Skilled in the safe and effective use of hand and power tools
- Familiarity with local and national building codes, safety regulations, and HVAC installation standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; professional demeanor when interacting with clients and coworkers
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy tools, equipment, and materials
- Capable of working in confined spaces, on ladders, and at elevated heights (e.g., rooftops)
- Ability to endure various working conditions, including heat, cold, and tight crawlspaces
