Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor (Civil) to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage the Survey Department, including supervision, training, work assignments, workflow coordination, and quality control of departmental deliverables.
- Oversee property line determinations and ensure all surveys meet company standards, professional requirements, and quality control procedures.
- Review topographic surveys, boundary surveys, maps, and other survey deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee field operations, including crew training, field procedures, and compliance with company standards.
- Manage survey data, records, correspondence, project files, and related documentation.
- Maintain and support client communications and relationships in coordination with senior management.
- Schedule and coordinate field and office survey work, including collaboration with the Engineering Department and other internal teams.
- Assist with project estimates, contract preparation, budgeting, and cost tracking.
- Coordinate with internal departments, attend project management meetings, and support senior management on project priorities and departmental needs.
- Support marketing and business development efforts as needed, including prospect meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
- Attend Planning Board meetings as needed for project representation or support.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Active New York State Licensed Land Surveyor (LS), with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of post-licensure surveying experience.
- Strong knowledge of boundary determination, survey standards, field procedures, and documentation.
- Experience supervising survey field crews and office staff.
- Ability to review survey work for accuracy, completeness, and quality control compliance.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, budgeting, and project management skills, including staff and project coordination.
- Experience with Trimble surveying equipment and software, including data collection, field operations, survey data processing, and workflow management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain client relationships and coordinate across departments.
- Willingness to attend client meetings, project meetings, Planning Board meetings, and occasional marketing or business development events.
