Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for their behavioral health and psychiatric services. This position will oversee psychiatric providers, support clinical quality and compliance, provide staff mentorship, and contribute to the continued development of behavioral health programs.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and medical staff.
• Oversee psychiatric services, clinical quality, and treatment standards.
• Develop and maintain medical policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
• Ensure compliance with OMH, OASAS, Medicaid, HIPAA, and applicable NYS regulations.
• Participate in clinical meetings, chart reviews, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide staff education and guidance on assessment, treatment planning, referrals, and crisis response.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
• Support trauma-informed, client-centered, and evidence-based behavioral health and substance use services.

Qualifications:

• New York State medical license required.
• Board Certification in Psychiatry required.
• Current DEA registration required.
• NPI and all required New York State credentials.
• 5+ years of experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• 5+ years of experience in behavioral health and/or substance use treatment, preferred.
• Experience with OMH and/or OASAS programs preferred.
• Federal DATA 2000 waiver/buprenorphine certification, where applicable.
• Knowledge of behavioral health, addiction services, clinical supervision, and NYS regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Proficient with EHR, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
