Logistics Manager.
Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Logistics Manager to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage branch budgeting, forecasting, financial performance, pricing, billing, and collections.
- Lead end-to-end project logistics operations, including routing, carrier selection, permitting, heavy-lift planning, documentation, and customs coordination.
- Manage strategic transportation and logistics vendors, negotiate rates, and ensure service and performance standards are met.
- Maintain compliance with applicable transportation, trade, security, customs, and export regulations.
- Own key operational metrics, including on-time performance, claims, profitability, and billing cycle time.
- Oversee warehouse and heavy-lift site operations, including receiving, inventory control, preservation, staging, space utilization, and customer reporting.
- Lead site safety programs for heavy cargo handling, material-handling equipment, lifting operations, and contractors.
- Oversee warehouse management systems, inventory reporting, facility readiness, and applicable trade-zone requirements.
- Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary team across operations, warehouse, and administration.
- Own hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and talent development.
- Establish operating standards, processes, schedules, and quality controls while representing the site in broader company leadership activities.
- Serve as the senior site-level contact for key customers, leading business reviews, performance reporting, and ongoing relationship management.
- Lead resolution of service issues, claims, and operational escalations through root-cause analysis and corrective action.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships while developing new accounts to support long-term site growth.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in project logistics, heavy-lift, breakbulk, or related freight forwarding, with 3+ years of P&L or branch/business-unit leadership.
- Strong knowledge of over-dimensional/overweight transportation, permitting, ocean breakbulk, Incoterms, and U.S. import/export compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, manage, and communicate financial performance and P&L results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams and related business applications.
- Proven track record of building, leading, and developing high-performing teams across office and field/warehouse environments.
- Strong executive presence and customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and decisive during escalations.
- Willingness to work on-site full-time with occasional travel to customer locations and other company facilities.
