Chief Operating Officer.
Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Chief Operating Officer to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee billing and administrative operations, including IT systems and staff supervision.
- Lead recruitment and retention of physicians; pursue facility/hospital contract opportunities as directed.
- Develop and manage the annual budget; report monthly on P&L, income, and budget variance to the Board.
- Oversee compliance with billing regulations (including Medicare/Medicaid) and report issues to the Board.
- Engage and coordinate with accountants, legal counsel, and other consultants on financial, contract, and risk matters.
- Hire, manage, and set remuneration for administrative staff (with President approval); build a high-performance team culture.
- Serve as liaison between the Board, physicians, staff, insurance carriers, hospitals, and surgical facilities.
- Meet weekly with the President and monthly with the Executive Committee; prepare Board meeting agendas and ensure timely, transparent reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Prior experience in a senior administrative, operations, or executive leadership role, ideally within a medical group, physician practice, or healthcare billing environment.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing operations, healthcare compliance (including Medicare/Medicaid regulations), and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, P&L statements, and working with accountants and legal counsel.
- Strong leadership, staff management, and organizational development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to serve as liaison among Boards, physicians, staff, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency with IT/billing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
