Description:

Our client is currently seeking a ­­­­Department Chair of Practical Nursing to join their team.  This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee all departmental instructional, operational, budget, retention, and educational outcomes.
• Recruit, mentor, supervise, and evaluate full-time and part-time faculty and staff.
• Review course outlines, syllabi, curriculum, and recommend program improvements.
• Manage scheduling, textbook orders, departmental records, and regulatory/accreditation compliance.
• Support accreditation, grant applications, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Foster clinical affiliation agreements and ensure adequate didactic and clinical instructor coverage.
• Advise students and promote student and faculty retention and satisfaction.
• Participate in hiring, faculty governance, advisory councils, orientations, graduation ceremonies, and professional development.
• Collaborate across departments and campuses to strengthen academic programs and institutional goals.

Qualifications:

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Prior college-level teaching experience required
• Experience supervising and evaluating faculty and staff preferred
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners
