Description:

Our client is currently seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities Include:

• Follow up on patient and insurance accounts to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
• Conduct insurance follow-up and claim resolution.
• Meet established productivity and collection performance goals.
• Respond promptly and professionally to patient, payer, and internal inquiries.
• Submit paper claims and retrieve missing remittance advice as needed.
• Post and reconcile patient, insurance, and external collection payments.
• Process patient refunds and release payments in accordance with practice policies.
• Review and resolve lockbox items, returned mail, and account discrepancies.
• Submit and verify external collection agency files.
• Maintain accurate account documentation and billing system records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with medical billing, insurance follow-up, reimbursement workflows, and patient collections is required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
